Dredging Two Locations as Part of the ARRA


The first location of work consists of maintenance dredging of approximately 17,000 cubic yards in the Chicoteague Bay Channel to a required depth of 6 feet using a hydraulic dredge and pipeline. Dredged material placed in Government furnished upland placement area.

 

The second location of work consists of maintenance dredging of approximately 7,000 cubic yards in the Chincoteague Harbor of Refuge to a required depth of 9 feet using a hydraulic dredge and pipeline. Dredge material will be placed in the designated Government furnished upland placement area.

 

The work required coordination with local, state and federal  authorities and the ongoing maintenance of submerged pipeline within open waters as to not interfere with recreational boating or access to any of the site facilities or launching ramps.
