Lake Dredge and Dewater

Millers Pond was one of the original drainage basins located on Port Royal Plantation. Its key role in the ecosystem is to filter runoff from the plantation before entering into the natural adjoining salt marsh, the natural breeding grounds for fish and shrimp.
The lake is managed by the town of Hilton Head Island.

Over time, the lake had become clogged with sediment and vegetation losing its natural storage capacity.

JND Thomas Company, Inc. (JND) was selected by the Town of Hilton Head Island .

The project consists of dredging and mechanical dewatering  16,554 instu cubic yards of material.
